The studio

A small crew with large intent.

Gare Jesse Production is one director and a small, deliberate crew, built to move fast without ever moving carelessly. We keep the unit small so every decision on set stays sharp and every film still feels like one person's eye.

Most production companies grow by adding people. We grow by saying no more often. A director-led model means the person who sold the treatment is the person behind the camera on the day, and the person in the edit bay after. Nothing gets handed off until it is finished.

The unit stays small on purpose. Four people can move through an airport, a border, a factory floor or a living room without announcing themselves. That is how you get the shot that a bigger crew scares away. Fewer people also means fewer opinions in the room, so the film keeps a single point of view from treatment to final grade.

Films for African originals is not a market we are chasing. It is a set of companies, founders and stories we already believe are worth pointing a camera at, on this continent and wherever they take us next. The brief is always the same: make it honest, make it move, make it last.

Director & Founder

Gare Jesse

Gare started behind a borrowed camera and never quite put it down. A decade of brand films, founder films and documentary work later, the eye is the same one: patient, a little skeptical of the obvious shot, and happiest on a real set with real stakes.

Based in Nairobi, on a plane whenever the story asks for it. Still the one holding the treatment on the first call and the one signing off the final cut.
